Bandhan
बंधन
to bind, to tie, to connect
This body of work was made in response to the loss and absence of my paternal grandmother. My work, comprising of video, textile, and sculpture, were made with the attempt to seek healing from grief associated with loss, tragedy and the repercussions of migration. I incorporate materials and themes that draw on aspects of my dislocated Indian upbringing and highlight recently uncovered stories and traditions that have enabled me to connect to my roots and familial histories.
